Healthcare Compliance

The media and patients are alert to possible irregularities between industry and members of the healthcare professions. Protect your reputation.

Nothing is more valuable than your reputation.

According to the German Medical Technology Association, every second innovation in medical technology originates in day-to-day clinical practice. This demonstrates how important collaboration between physicians or clinics and pharmaceutical or medical device companies is.

This collaboration ensures important innovations as well as product safety. At the same time, physicians make purchasing decisions and therefore influence revenue. However, the healthcare system bears the cost of this revenue—not the decision-makers.

Healthcare Compliance aims to mitigate this area of tension. Healthcare Compliance—also known in some contexts as the law governing benefits—is a body of statutory and sub-statutory requirements, as well as self-imposed restrictions, designed to prevent conflicts of interest and corruption.

In all collaborations with healthcare professionals, it is particularly important to observe the four core principles: separation, documentation, adequate consideration, and transparency.

In addition to the anti-corruption provisions of the Criminal Code and the regulations of the German Act on Advertising in the Healthcare System, numerous national and international industry codes must also be observed, including EFPIA, EUCOMED, the BVMed Code, and FSA and AKG rules.

I support you in developing tailored compliance structures and provide practical guidance in day-to-day compliance advice.
